Seven people died in Chivacoa, state Yaracuydue to ethylic intoxication by the liquor intake, during the end of the year.
The deceased today began to drink on December 31 and continued on January 1, according to witnesses, with a liquor called “slow death” and although they felt bad they continued to drink.
They presented headache and shortness of breath; but they continued with the drink. The men were taken to the Chivacoa hospital, where they died.
The victims were identified as Carlos Barico Torres (57), Oswaldo Oviedo Diez (55), Francisco Goncalves Manrique (48), Marcos Parada Sánchez (64), Pinto Labor (67), Gustavo Donaire Fernández (58) and Víctor Alvarado Peña ( 67).
The event occurred in the Pueblo Nuevo sector, in the town of Chivacoa. According to the police report, a container with a sample of the concoction was collected from the place where they were, which they indicated was handmade.
