Seven businesses in the western area dedicated to the sale of clandestine chances are sanctioned

An operation against the sale of clandestine chances was carried out this Sunday by the National Charity Lottery (LNB) in conjunction with the corresponding authorities, in the district of Arraiján.

The initiative seeks to put an end to this bad practice that is detrimental to wallets and the institution, for which seven businesses in the areas of Nuevo Chorrillo, Vista Alegre and Arraiján Cabecera were sanctioned, and whose owners are of Asian nationality.

They were placed at the orders of the Justice of the Peace of the Arraiján Cabecera area, where an investigation will begin to determine the penalties determined by law, which range up to five thousand dollars.

Alicia Agredo, from the LNB’s Legal Department, confirmed the results and pointed out that the institution will continue to carry out these surprise operations at the national level, which are requested by the community.

Devices for printing numbers, cell phones used for online sales, cash and a computer were seized in the operation.

“It should be noted that other institutions interested in preventing this activity from gaining strength will be getting involved, so now the sanctions will be much more energetic,” Agredo assured.
