Seven arrested for abusing a minor

Father, mother and brother of a teenager are among the seven arrested for sexual abuse of the minor, according to police sources.

The procedure was carried out by agents of the Bolivarian National Police, assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division in the La Herrereña urbanization, San Carlos (Cojedes).

The PNB was activated following a complaint filed by the victim, who accused her brother Jesús Manuel Pérez Ortiz of having sexually abused her eight years ago.

He also pointed out that protection counselor Anny Rojas was aware of the incident.

The teenager made the same accusation against her parents Mary Sol Ortiz González and Pedro Pérez Vivas. The brother’s mother-in-law, Yelisbeth Tovar, was also detained, as was his sister-in-law Edith Tovar, sources said.
