This morning three armed men arrived at a commercial premises with the intention of assaulting the site, but were repelled with bullets by the owner, who killed one of them and wounded another who managed to escape, but this afternoon the police officers captured them.
The assailants reached the “Caza y Pesca Zanetti” business owned by José Felipe Zanetti and Thiago José Zanetti, located at kilometer 32, in the district of San Cristóbal, in the department of Alto Paraná, two of them went down to commit the robbery, but they were shot back by José Felipe, who was shot in the right shoulder, but killed Modesto Espínola Pintos, 26, who had an arrest warrant for family violence and aggravated robbery.
Juan Gabriel Gauto, 23, was also injured, with a history of aggravated robbery, but managed to flee thanks to his accomplice who waited in the vehicle to flee.
According to the police officers, the two assailants drove to a rural area where their vehicle broke down and they entered a house where they held the owners of the place captive, until they left the site in another mobile, but they were arrested.
Prosecutor José Silguero said that the wounded man was referred to a care center and the third man, who has not yet been identified, is already in prison.
Regarding Zanetti’s action, he explained that after seeing the closed circuit video his reaction is clearly framed in legitimate defense. The merchant who received a gunshot wound is out of danger and will be called to testify.
