The registration of artistic proposals from all over the country for the Sesc-RJ Pulsar Culture Notice 2022/2023 ends on July 8th. The initiative wants to encourage and support artistic and cultural production in its various manifestations, stimulating the artistic processes in development with the formation of the public and social inclusion. A total of R$ 30 million will be distributed to selected artistic productions, including the main public notice and its consequences, which will be launched later this year, for other strategic cultural projects.
The president of Sesc-RJ and the Fecomércio-RJ System, Antonio Florencio de Queiroz Junior, recalled that, last year, the first edition of the Sesc-RJ Pulsar Public Notice was launched. “The success of the initiative can be observed today in our cultural facilities, which are receiving a huge variety of artistic works, of high technical quality and with contents of great social relevance”. Queiroz Junior highlighted that, this year, Sesc-RJ is consolidating the public notice as a tool for democratizing culture and promoting this sector of the economy that was greatly affected during the pandemic, therefore deserving our full attention”.
The public notice is based on three pillars, represented by the verbs reconnect, move and boost. The intention is to reconnect the artist with the stage, move his relationship with the Sesc-RJ audience and boost artistic work in all its spheres. The title Pulsar refers to the idea of “being alive”, in an allusion to the resistance of culture in the face of the covid-19 pandemic, informed the president of Sesc-RJ.
