The Services Confidence (ICS) and Commerce (ICC) indices grew from April to May this year, according to data released today (30) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). The ICC rose 7.4 points and reached 93.3 points, on a scale of zero to 200 points, the highest level since October 2021 (94.2 points).
The ICS increased by 2.1 points and reached 98.3 points, the highest level since October 2021 (99.1 points).
The six main segments of the ICC, which measures business confidence in the country’s trade, rose from April to May. The Current Situation Index, which assesses the perception of entrepreneurs about the present, rose 8.2 points. The Expectations Index, which assesses confidence in the future, advanced 6.1 points.
In the ICS, which measures the confidence of the service business, the increase reached 9 of the 13 surveyed segments. The Current Situation Index advanced 2.1 points, while the Expectations Index rose 1.9 points.
