The services sector, which brings together activities such as transportation, tourism, restaurants, beauty salon and information technology, grew 0.3% from June to July. The result represents the sixth rise in a row and renews the highest level ever achieved in June 2025.
In the six months in a row, the segment rose 2.4%. This period from February to July It is the largest sequence of discharge since the eight -month period between February and September 2022.
The data is part of the Monthly Survey of Servicesreleased this Friday (12) by Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The survey shows that, compared to July 2024, the sector advanced 2.8%. In the accumulated 12 months, the growth is 2.9%.
Sectors
The IBGE revealed that three of the five activities that make up the sector were discharged from June to July:
- Information and Communication: 1%
- professionals, administrative and complementary: 0.4%
- services provided to families: 0.3%
- Transport: -0.6%
- Other services: -0.2%
The research manager, Rodrigo Lobo, highlights the behavior of two activities within the communication information segment. Telecommunications grew 0.7%, and information technology; 1.2%.
IBGE research identified that the expansion of services It was accompanied by 12 of the 27 federation units, with the largest positive impacts from São Paulo (1.7%), Paraná (1.7%), Mato Grosso do Sul (5.7%), Santa Catarina (0.9%) and Rondônia (10.9%).
