Service providers in Morrocoy say that Inparques wants to impose a contract on them

Hundreds of oystercatchers, street vendors of coconut preserves, ice cream, floats, glasses, hats, and artisans who make a living in the Morrocoy National Park say they are concerned “because of the arbitrariness of the coordination of Inparques in trying to impose a contract-concession that obliges us to to pay 30 dollars a month or else we will not be able to sell”

The tourist service providers that work occasionally in the Morrocoy National Park reiterated their complaint that the management of inparks in Tucacas he intends to impose a contract on them that is costly for them.

Hundreds of oystercatchers, street vendors selling coconut preserves, ice cream, floats, glasses, hats, and artisans say they are concerned “because of the arbitrariness of Inparques’ coordination in trying to impose a concession contract that obliges us to pay 30 dollars a month or more.” otherwise we will not be able to sell”.

The sellers affirm that it is impossible for them to pay that amount because sales are very low and each time they sell they must pay Inparques $5 to take the garbage out of the keys in boats.

The workers, who claim to be townspeople, announced that they will hold a public consultation to propose to Inparques, just as the Pemones did, that the natives of Morrocoy have the right to work in a park where they were born and therefore deserve a better deal.

On February 22, hundreds of oystercatchers and sellers of preserves, coconuts, ice cream, floats, glasses, hats, and artisans expressed their disagreement with the payment of these fees before the president of the Silva Municipal Council, Gregorio Uzcátegui, who they asked support.

“Those of us who traditionally sell on the islands and the continental area of the Morrocoy National Park find ourselves very concerned and outraged at the arbitrary onslaught of the coordination of inparks», expressed the Tucaqueños.

“It is impossible for us to pay those amounts because sales are very low and every time we sell something we must give Inparques 5 dollars to take out the garbage in boats and, when required, we participate in cleaning the keys”, added the informal vendors.

Those affected warn that the measure of the Inparques coordinator in Tucacas and his superiors in Caracas “is from a savage capitalism that tries to turn us into slaves that we would work to deliver all our modest profit to Inparques”.
