Servers that will be readjusted are not defined, says president

The readjustment policy for federal civil servants in 2022 has not yet been defined, said today (24) President Jair Bolsonaro. In an interview at Palácio da Alvorada, the president said that he will wait for the next few weeks to decide on the distribution of the budget for the Union’s General Budget for next year to readjust civil servants.

Last Tuesday (21st), the National Congress approved the 2022 Budget with a reserve of R$ 1.7 billion for readjustment to federal security forces and around R$ 800 million for community health agents and agents to combat security. endemic. According to Bolsonaro, the government will wait for the situation to calm down before defining how the money will be distributed.

“I put myself in their shoes. You [cerca de] R$ 2 billion will be decided on who to go. It may be that part goes to the IRS staff [Federal], it can be for police personnel, for anyone, or give less than 1% to everyone. Let it calm down a little bit there, we make the best decision”, declared the president, in a press interview, after the signing of the adhesion of Goiás to the Tax Recovery Regime (RRF).

The president said he was in solidarity with the salary situation of the public servants, but stressed that he cannot meet all requests because of the federal spending ceiling and other pressures on public spending, such as the readjustment for pensions.

“Everyone deserves [o reajuste]. I won’t belittle it, say it doesn’t deserve it. their sheet [do pessoal da saúde] exceeds R$ 13 billion. You will have to give 10% to retirees, and the impact is quite large. We have a roof. That’s the problem. Previous governments did not have the roof, so they had no problem”, added the president.Servers that will be readjusted are not defined, says president

IRS

Over the strike sign approved yesterday (23) at night by the Federal Revenue Service, Bolsonaro informed that he will talk about the situation with the Economy Minister, Paulo Guedes. According to the president, the regulation of the efficiency bonus requested by the category would have a low impact on the Budget, of around R$ 200 million per year, but the Ministry of Economy did not want to give in, due to limitations such as the spending ceiling.

“For my part, I would have given in, because it’s not restructuring or anything. It is the fulfillment of a legal provision. It doesn’t have to be that strict. The government is not a company. We don’t want to blow the roof, or do any mischief, but it wouldn’t cost anything to take care of it”, he declared.

The president once again defended the readjustment for categories such as prison guards and federal highway police. “What comes from the servers is the following: many think that either it’s for everyone, or it’s not for anyone. But there are sectors that I say are not doing well, but less so than others. When you pick up the Criminal Police, these people have their salary down there. Federal highway officers are making record arrests,” he commented.

Payroll exemption

As for the exemption from payroll for 12 sectors of the economy, Bolsonaro said he intends to sanction the law that extends the benefit until the end of 2023. However, he did not say when he will sign the law, nor what solution he intends to find, since the Budget was approved without the fiscal space for the measure.

“They made a mistake in the budget, but it will be sanctioned. I want the solution, not the person responsible. I determined a few things, but learned of the unforeseen. I will sanction. It doesn’t matter under what conditions, but I will sanction it”, he declared. The president informed that he has another 15 working days to decide the issue, until the beginning of next year.

“I had a meeting with the 12 sectors. It was right. It would be for a year, let’s extend it for two, because I think it’s unfair to leave it to the future president to start renegotiating, whoever he is. We have until the end of 2023. Whoever takes over in 2023 has time to plan,” he said.

According to Bolsonaro, the Budget estimates that the government will collect R$ 13 billion in addition to the expenses planned for next year. For the president, the problem is in the spending ceiling, which limits public spending.
