This May 1 at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline to request the change of the registered electoral address, as well as any modification to the Electoral Registry, with a view to preparing the Electoral Register of the Constitutional Plebiscite.
As reported by the Electoral Service (Servel), this period is part of a series of amendments to the law approved by Congress, among which the assignment of a local near the electoral domicile registered in Servel becomes applicable to the Constitutional Plebiscite. In this way, according to the Servel, that the voter maintain an updated electoral domicile will facilitate compliance with the mandatory suffrage for the Constitutional Plebiscite.
Both the query and the updating of the electoral address can be done online, by going to miconsulta.servel.cl. Also, it can be done in person at the Regional Directorates of Servel, at the offices of Chile Atiende, at the Chilean consulates in the world and at the offices of the Civil Registry when renewing the identity card or passport. To carry out the procedure online, the Unique Key is necessary, while in person, only the presentation of the identity card will suffice.
It is worth mentioning that the Regional Directorates of Servel will attend in a special way this Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
