Two months after the departure constitutional plebiscite, on November 4 a group of parliamentarians and political figures from the center capitalized on the triumph of the Rejection and went to the offices of the Electoral Service (Servel) to register the new party called “Democrats”, the same one that this afternoon was confirmed as “in formation”.
Among the main representatives of the community are former DC senators, Matías Walker and the provisional president of the group, Ximena Rincón. They are joined by the former deputy of the PPD, Jorge Tarud and the former president of the Radical Party, Carlos Maldonado.

For Demócratas Chile this is a very significant day, because the 210-day period to be able to tour the country and be able to achieve the affiliation of more than 19 thousand militants throughout the national territory”.
“We believe that with Demócratas Chile the option of a center party opens up, which will have, above all, the purpose of protecting the best interests of the country,” Walker added.
The statements are made after the Servel published a document that maintains that “the entity called ‘Partido Demócratas Chile’ was constituted as a political party, its symbol is the word Democrats, in blue and red colors from bottom to top, with the word Chile below,” reports La Tercera.
“The letter ‘D’ in capital letter is also a symbol, with the same previous characteristics. Its motto: Building dreams of the future for Chile. It does not present an Acronym,” the letter closes.
