The Electoral Service (Servel) revealed the number of members of each political party in Chile, with the People’s Party (PDG) and the Communist Party (PC) having the largest number of militants.
According to the Servel registry, with registrations made up to August 31, the PDG registers 46,138 members, closely followed by the PC with 46,085.
Further back is the Socialist Party (PS) with 40,398 militants, Social Convergence (37,170), National Renewal (36,498), UDI (35,699) and Christian Democracy (30,523).
Meanwhile, the communities with the fewest members are Comunes (12,981) and the Liberal Party (8,618).
The Servel also detailed that there is a total of 430,133 people attached to a legally constituted community. At the regional level, the Metropolitan concentrates the majority of those registered with 167,839, followed by Valparaíso with 42,991 and Biobío with 36,766 people.
Servel also points out that the party with the most female participation is the PC with 21,165, while the one with the fewest women is the Republican Party with 6,274.
