The president of the board of directors of the Electoral Service (Servel), Andres Tagle, confirmed the filing of a complaint against the far-right activist Sebastian Left -recognized for leading the Rejection marches-, after he called for “cheating” in the ballot to harm the presidential candidate Gabriel boric (I approve of Dignity).
“Rather than defend Kast’s votes, object to all Boric’s votes. Cabros, go and cheat, be proxies at the table and object to all Boric votes, not one or two, all votes are challenged, ”Izquierdo said in the video.
Faced with his statements, Tagle indicated this afternoon that “the Electoral Service has resolved to file a complaint against Sebastián Izquierdo.”
The complaint will be presented for the “crime of article 143 of Law 18,700 of preventing the operation of the polling stations.”
“Proceedings will be requested against the defendant that prevents him from realizing on Sunday 19 what he publicly stated that constitutes a danger to society and democracy,” he added.
“We call on the proxies to act responsibly and in accordance with the law in the elections,” concluded the president of the Servel board of directors.
