The Electoral Service (Servel) issued a statement to inform that its Board of Directors issued a resolution on the candidacies declared by political parties and electoral pacts until February 6, for the election of the Constitutional Council.
Individually, 345 of 348 declared candidacies were accepted, rejecting only three for the reasons indicated:
- Marco Andres Hernández Clarck, candidate of the Unity pact for Chile in the Tarapacá Region whose candidacy does not register affiliation to the political party that declares it within the two months prior to the expiration of the term to declare candidacies.
- Tiare Noemi Cáceres Uribe, candidate of the Chile Seguro pact in the Valparaíso Region declared as independent, but registers affiliation to a political party within the nine months prior to the expiration of the term to declare candidacies.
- Nicolás Alberto Preuss Herrera, candidate of the Todo por Chile pact in the Santiago Metropolitan Region who did not accompany the authorization that empowers the Director of the Electoral Service to open a single bank account in his name and position, to receive campaign contributions.

Additionally, the rejection of these candidacies also generates the loss of gender parity and therefore the rejection of all the other candidacies of the respective electoral pact in the respective region, in accordance with article 144 of the Political Constitution.
However, according to the Servel, the electoral pacts in accordance with the second paragraph of article 19 of Law No. 18,700, may only correct the situation related to parity before the Electoral Service within four business days following the date notification, in order to adjust to an equal number of candidates of each sex, either by withdrawing declarations of candidacies or by declaring new ones.
