The National Consumer Service (Sernac) filed a class action lawsuit against the producer Noix Dreamers and the ticket company Ticketmaster Chile for the cancellation of a kpop event.
Sernac seeks to indemnify or compensate those affected by the partial cancellation of the “Music Bank” festival after the rain announced on November 12, 2022, since three groups of the six announced for that day could be seen.
Through a statement, the entity reported that “this action was adopted, after the producer did not deliver a satisfactory compensation proposal for the affected consumers, within the framework of a Collective Voluntary Procedure (PVC), previously initiated.”
The director of Sernac, Andrés Herrera, indicated in the lawsuit that consumers have the right to receive the service for which they paid under the promised conditions. If this does not happen, the company must compensate.
In addition, the company is exposed to fines of up to 1,500 UTM, more than $90 million, for violating the Consumer Law.
More than 11,500 complaints from consumers from Chile and abroad were received for the event, which is why they officiated and summoned the legal representative to claim to explain what happened.
