The duel between Sport and Vasco was ended before the final whistle. This Sunday (16), Pernambuco and Cariocas drew 1-1 at Ilha do Retiro, in Recife, for the 35th round of the Série B of the Brazilian Championship. The match, broadcast by National Radiowas marked by a general confusion after the Cruzmaltino goal, in stoppage time, with an invasion of fans and a long interruption, of more than 50 minutes, until the referee Raphael Claus ended the game, alleging a lack of security.Serie B: Sport and Vasco draw in a duel with invasion of fans

Cruzmaltino went to 56 points, remaining in fourth position, three points ahead of Leão da Ilha, which appears in fifth. Sampaio Corrêa, Criciúma (both 52 points), Ituano (51) and Londrina (50) appear in the sequence, still dreaming of the G4, which gives access to next year’s Serie A. As the game was suspended before the end, the Sports Justice must evaluate the summary of the match in the next few days, which may influence the maintenance or change of the result.

The red-black team took the lead in the 19th minute of the final stage, with Facundo Labandeira. The Uruguayan took advantage of the rebound of the goalkeeper Thiago Rodrigues, after finishing the also striker Vagner Love, to swing the nets. At 42, midfielder Alex Teixeira shared with goalkeeper Saulo in the area and Vasco asked for a penalty. The referee checked the bid on the video and called the infraction. Striker Raniel, already in extra time, charged and left everything the same.

Vasco’s players celebrated the draw close to the Sport crowd, behind the goal. Afterwards, Leão fans, disgusted by the provocation, tried to enter the field. Security was triggered, but some were successful in breaking into the playing field. The athletes from Cruzmaltino ran to the locker room and those from Rubro-Negro sought to calm the public. Some people in the stands felt unwell and had to be attended to by firefighters. Health professionals were attacked.

The two teams return to the field next Saturday (22), at 16:30 (Brasília time), in new direct confrontations. Vasco receives Criciúma in São Januário, in Rio de Janeiro, while Sport goes to Estádio do Café, in Londrina (PR), to face the home club.

All the same in Porto Alegre

In a duel at the same time as Recife, Bahia and Grêmio also drew 1-1, at the Rio Grande do Sul team’s Arena, in Porto Alegre. With 58 points, Tricolor remains in second place, two points ahead of Esquadrão de Aço, which is in third.

The Bahians opened the scoring in the 48th minute of the first half. Striker Vitor Jacaré crossed close, goalkeeper Gabriel Grando countered and midfielder Lucas Mugni took advantage of the leftover in the small area. In the final stage, at 38, striker Guilherme lifted the second post and midfielder Thiago Santos, with a header, avoided the Grêmio defeat.

Bahia’s next match will be on Saturday, at 4:30 pm, at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador, against Vila Nova. On Sunday (23), at 4 pm, Grêmio visits Náutico nos Aflitos, in Recife. The two tricolors can guarantee the return to Serie A in case of victory in the respective games and a combination of results in the round.

Bridge breathes and Nautical sinks

In the other games of the round, which began last Tuesday (11), the highlight was the 6-0 rout suffered by Náutico, against Novorizontino, at the Jorge Ismael de Biasi stadium, in Novo Horizonte (SP). Forwards Douglas Baggio (twice), Hélio and Ronald and midfielders Rômulo and Diego Torres scored for Tigre, who rose to 15th place with 40 points, opening four for CSA, the first team in the relegation zone.

Timbu, in turn, continues with 30 points and may have their fall to Série C decreed even before facing Grêmio. For that, it is enough for Chapecoense, 16th placed and first team outside the Z4, to draw with Tombense next Friday (21), at 19:15, at Arena Condá, in Chapecó (SC).

Ponte Preta got rid of relegation once and for all, which drew goalless with Tombense at Estádio Soares de Azevedo, in Muriaé (MG), last Saturday (15). Macaca went to 45 points (11 victories) and can no longer be reached by the CSA (36 points and seven victories, reaching a maximum of ten). The Minas Gerais team, with 44 points, is one victory away from guaranteeing their permanence in Serie B.

After suffering in Z4 for a good part of the championship, Guarani and Vila Nova are close to escaping the fall. Bugre, with 44 points, needs only a draw on Tuesday (18), at 21:30, against the already champion Cruzeiro, at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte. In the opening of the 32nd round, the São Paulo team defeated CRB by 1 to 0 in the Earring of Gold of the Princess, in Campinas (SP), with a goal from the midfielder Richard Rios.

Vila, in turn, beat Cruzeiro 1-0 at Estádio Onésio Brasileiro Alvarenga, in Goiânia, on Friday. Midfielder Matheuzinho swung the nets and took Tigrão to 45 points. Virtually saved, the Goiás can even be overtaken by the CSA, but, for that, they would have to lose the next three games and the Alagoans add nine points in the same sequence. Still, the dispute would go to goal difference.
