With the intervention that is going to be performed at ASPETAR hospital in Doha, Neymar tries to glimpse a new horizon in which the part of the body that has caused him the most setbacks throughout his career can better support the load of matches and contact with rivals.
The most recent of these injuries occurred as a result of a spectacular sprain during a league match against Lille which forced him to leave the field on a stretcher. But it is enough to go back to the month of November to find a similar situation.
The scenario, on that occasion, was more mediatic since Neymar had to withdraw from the opening match of the group stage of the final phase of the World Cup against Serbia. Then he was diagnosed with a lateral ligament injury in his right ankle with a small bone edema. which caused him to miss the two immediately subsequent games against Switzerland and Cameroon.

Since 2013, when he landed at Barcelona, a large percentage of his injuries have come from the ankle, and he has rarely been out for less than a week.
Assuming his long period of absence and with the subsequent summer break, Neymar will now not have the rush to return that constant competition demands. He is leaving, therefore, momentarily, having played a total of 29 official matches this season with the Parisian team in which he scored 18 goals.
