Governor Sergio Garrido denounced that the situation with gasoline in Barinas is critical because people have no way to get around and work. The situation, as he warned, has worsened in recent days
The governor of the state of Barinas, Sergio Garridodenounced on Thursday, January 19, that in the llanera entity there are repeated failures in the fuel supply and for this reason, urged the Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) board of directors to correct the deficit that is evident as soon as possible.
Garrido lamented the treatment that PDVSA is giving Barinas regarding gasoline and recalled that it is one of the main states in agricultural and livestock production in the country, so the supply of fuel is essential to maintain farm work because if not , a technical stoppage is entered.
“The situation in Barinas is critical. At this moment, the farmers in the countryside have serious unconsciousness to get their crops and other products, while the public administration, commerce and the business sector suffer the rigors of this situation every time their employees cannot travel to the work sites because They do not have transportation,” he said according to a press release.

He warned that the situation with the issue of gasoline has worsened in recent days because, as he emphasized, PDVSA cut off the supply to all the service stations that are subsidized and leaving the public at the mercy of payments in dollars, although he warned that the dispatch at those gas stations is also compromised.
Sergio Garrido said that, although he does not know why there are failures with gasoline in Barinas, it is unofficially handled that there are problems in the filling plants. He added that, although they are rumors, there is no justification for the lack of fuel in that state when nothing similar is happening elsewhere.

«The state of Barinas is again in a technical standstill due to lack of fuel, while the suffering of my countrymen continues in the vicinity of the service stations. This is unfair, since other entities are attended to permanently and we are punished”, stressed Governor Garrido.
He reiterated that he will contact the representatives of PDVSA and the Ministry of Petroleum again so that they solve the problem soon.
At the end of 2022, several entities in the interior of the country registered long queues of cars at service stations due to failures in the distribution of gasoline.
