The Second Collegiate Court of the National Districtat the request of the Public ministryhanded down sentences of 30 and 20 years in prison against two men who last year killed another during an assault in the Villas Agrícolas sector.
The judges sent Branyet López Rosario, alias El Guardia, and Israel Sosa María, alias Jey, to serve their sentences at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
During the substantive trial, the trial prosecutor Leydi García presented the testimonial, documentary, expert, illustrative and material evidence that proves the acts committed to the detriment of Luigi Manuel Avalo, in July 2021.

The accusatory file establishes that those convicted today, together with the fugitives Jayson and Aneudy, were traveling at night on motorcycles and took several people by surprise, who were stripped of their belongings, near a grocery store in the aforementioned neighborhood.
They then approached Avalo, who ran off trying to avoid the robbery; At that moment, López Rosario chased him through the nearby alleys, while firing several shots at him, one of which hit him in the head. The thieves carried a chain and a cell phone belonging to the victim.
The Public Ministry described the conduct of the defendants as association of malefactors, voluntary homicide, aggravated robbery and illegal possession of a firearm, crimes provided for and punished in articles 265, 266, 295, 304, 379 and 382 of the Penal Code and the Articles 66 and 67 of Law 631-16, on the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials.
