Given the means of evidence presented by the Public Ministry, Omar Jesús López Herdez (27) was convicted to turn 15 years in prison for his responsibility in the murder of the merchant Miguel Ángel Caña González (20).
The incident occurred on March 4, 2019 in the Los Aceites de Guanipa sector, belonging to the San Simón parish of the Maturín municipality; Capital of the Monagas state, highlighted a press release from the public body.
During the night of the aforementioned date, Caña González shared with a relative on the public road of the Los Aceites de Guanipa sector; When López Herdez quietly approached them in the back with a shotgun and, without mediating, he shot the victim; who died on the product of a hypovolemic shock due to the unique projectile step produced by a gun away in thorax, according to the forensic evaluation.
After undertaking immediate escape from the place, López Herdez was apprehended that same day by officials of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations (Cicpc) in Punta de Mata; to be left immediately available to the Public Ministry.
Of the expertise executed by the Cicpc in coordination with the guarantor body of legality in the country, it was determined that López Herdez expressed days before the fact to several neighbors his intention to kill Caña González; because he would have betrayed him for stolen bovine meat from a nearby farm.
During the trial, the 17th Prosecutor’s Office of Monagas ratified the accusation against López Herdez for the Homicide Commission qualified with a Alev user.
Once the fiscal representation evacuated the means of evidence concerning the case, the 6th trial court in that eastern entity issued the aforementioned conviction against the accused and ordered his imprisonment in the agro -productive center of Barcelona; located in the Anzoátegui state.
