The president of the Dominican Medical College (CMD), Senén Caba, reiterated this Tuesday his dissatisfaction with resolution 563-01 of the National Social Security Council (CNSS) because he did not comply with the entity’s list of demands.
At a press conference, the trade unionist described the organization’s disposition as arrogant, irresponsible and even disrespectful because they negotiated the agreement with other parties involved in the conflict without the presence of the union group.
“The CMD even lightened the demands a bit to see if it could reach compromise scenarios but they stood up until they reached the aforementioned resolution (…), in this situation the CNSS cannot expect us to give them a poetry concert and send them a floral arrangement”, warned Caba, who informed that tomorrow they will hold a general assembly to give them a definitive answer.
Likewise, he announced that they will march again in the company of civil society against the Health Risk Administrators (ARS) next Wednesday, February 8 in Barahona, on the 22nd in Bonao, and on Sunday, March 1 in San Juan de la Maguana.
He stated that the resolution does not benefit the population, and that increases such as 20 percent in procedures only favor a part of the doctors, because more than 18,000 doctors and clinical treatments are left out.
“That 20 percent does not even reach the category of a consolation prize, what’s more, that is ridiculous and a mockery,” he asserted.
He declared that the suspension of Universal, Mapfre, Monumental, Renacer and Simag will remain in force until they establish other actions to achieve compliance with their claims, ranging from expanding coverage for health problems of the population and increasing the share of medicines, up to the equalization and indexation of the rate received by medical specialists.
