Everything indicates that next week, the senators will have to define this issue, due to the haste that the deputies are showing to deal with the trial tomorrow, Friday, or next Monday.
Senators from various benches agree that Giuzzio should be removed.
Stephan Rasmussen, national senator for Patria Querida, affirmed that the Interior Minister’s management is terrible. He lamented that he does not see the will to change on the part of Abdo Benítez, President of the Republic.
“Citizens do not have to get used to this type of attacks and hired assassins. The president is a great useless, he is an accomplice or he is both. There are no answers from the minister either. We are in the hands of no one, you do not see any leadership, ”he questioned.
When asked about the possible reasons that Abdo Benítez will have for not dismissing Giuzzio, he stated that the national president showed that he does not have the political will to fight corruption.
“Abdo is either part of the corruption or he is so afraid of certain powerful groups that he allows the corruption to continue. It is a pity for the citizenry to have this kind of president”, he lamented.
richer
Hugo Richer, national senator for the Guasu Front, pointed out during the Permanent Commission that Minister Arnaldo Giuzzio must be changed. However, he warned that he will only represent a change to mislead people as the problems are much deeper.
“In the Government of Cartes and Lugo, around four interior ministers were changed. We have an inept president. Getting to decipher his statements reflects a leadership that is not fit to lead the destinies of a republic”, he criticized.
The legislator indicated that he does not intend to defend Giuzzio and that he has no objection to a political trial, but warned that the problem of organized crime is local and regional, so strategies must be established with our neighbors.
“The border between Paraguay and Brazil is 1,900 kilometers long. Tons of contraband and drugs pass through there. I repeat, this is a strategic struggle that will take at least a medium-term solution,” he said.
APURIL
Gilberto “Tony” Apuril, national senator for “Hagamos”, said for his part that the minister is responsible for security, and if the necessary measures were not taken to prune the progress of narco-politics, the minister of the interior is the responsable.
“Whoever pays the price is responsible. No one is here to defend anyone, much less against faits accomplis. We (for his caucus) would be for dismissal, ”he advanced.
