During this afternoon it was reported that the senator and former presidential candidate, Yasna Provoste (DC), suffered a traffic accident in the Vallenar commune, Atacama region. No serious injuries were reported.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred at the intersection of Avenida Huasco and Avenida Chungará. The parliamentarian -who was accompanied by her husband- was driving her vehicle when she collided with a minibus.
The police in the area preliminarily indicated that the incident occurred because a taxi did not respect a stop sign, to which the senator had to avoid it, and in the action collided with the passenger vehicle.
Those involved in the accident were transferred to the Vallenar health center to verify injuries. The vehicles continue in the sector for the pertinent investigations.
