Lucas Aquino, a national senator for the PLRA, visited the Hospital del Indígena, a primary hospital for the natives. It serves 19 indigenous communities. At the end of the visit, the legislator announced the needs of the hospital.
“A significant number of pregnant women come for treatment. It needs more infrastructure. This is a hospital that was very helpful during the pandemic,” she stated.
He stressed that X-ray devices are necessary for dental implants. In addition, the personnel charge very low salaries.
“We must support these types of institutions. They tell me that in 12 years it is the first time a legislator has visited. We are going to ask for a budget increase. The request will be based on technical foundations that we will defend before the plenary session”, he stated.
The most frequent consultations are from pregnant women, respiratory conditions, tuberculosis and nutritional problems, announced Dr. Rosario Marín, director of the hospital.
