One of the authors of the fibromyalgia and non-cancer chronic pain bill, Karim Bianchi (IND), appreciated that the Chamber of Deputies has approved the Senate’s modifications and dispatched the measure to the Executive for its promulgation.
In this sense, the Magallanes parliamentarian called on the Government of President Boric to enact as soon as possible the initiative that aims to establish a framework law that recognizes fibromyalgia disease as such, and that promotes and guarantees care comprehensive treatment of people suffering from chronic pain.
Along the same lines, the parliamentarian pointed out that the idea is to promote and guarantee comprehensive health care for people with fibromyalgia and non-cancer chronic pain in search of improving their quality of life, regardless of the pension scheme or health system to which they belong. .
“It imposes on the State the duty to ensure that every person with fibromyalgia and/or non-cancer chronic pain has free and equal access to the health insurance system and its adequate protection, regardless of the medical treatment chosen to alleviate the pain,” concluded Bianchi.
