In Chile and Bolivia they must understand that the current world is no longer from the 19th or 20th century and look to the future, said the Chilean senator of the Socialist Party, Alfonso de Urresti.

The legislator affirmed that both countries must advance on all fronts to achieve a full bilateral relationship in the immediate future.

In 1978 diplomatic relations were broken and since that year a link has been maintained at the consular level between Bolivia and Chile.

“You have to be bold and understand that today’s world is no longer the last century, we have to look to the future and also commit to leaving the next generations a better world. There, no one is left over and all efforts are valid,” declared de Urresti, who was in Tarija to attend the “Dialogues with the future” meeting on Artificial Intelligence and neurotechnologies.

The socialist senator considered that the president Gabriel Boric has a Latin American vision and all government actions are aimed at facing the challenges of the 21st century.

Currently, according to de Urresti, the Chilean government is targeting the eclean and inexhaustible energies, such as photovoltaic solar, with a large park installed in the Atacama Desert, the most irradiated in the world.

“We do not have to remain anchored in fossil fuels, but in the energy revolution and Chile is betting heavily on renewable energies. We are making progress in this to comply with the international commitment of the Paris Agreement to decarbonize the energy matrix,” said the parliamentarian.
