Senate will hold solemn session in honor of Brasilia's 62nd birthday

The Federal Senate will have a special session on Monday morning (18) to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the capital, Brasília, which will be completed on April 21. The initiative was taken by the senators of the Federal District (DF) and was approved by the plenary.Senate will hold solemn session in honor of Brasilia's 62nd birthday

The formal session will be semi-present. DF senators Izalci Lucas (PSDB) and Leila Barros (PDT) justified the tribute by recalling that since its inauguration, on April 21, 1960, Brasília has become the third most populous metropolis in the country, with 3 million inhabitants.

After two years without celebrating its anniversary, due to restrictions arising from the covid-19 pandemic, this year the district government invested R$ 700 thousand in the organization of a celebration with attractions in the central region of Brasília.
