Daniel Benítez, appointed this week as Minister of Justice, is considering presenting his resignation from the position, due to the data leak scandal and the omission of communication, about the alleged whereabouts of Óscar Denis.
“Obviously I am not attached to the position and if my continuity in the Ministry of Justice causes the prison system to come into play, obviously I am going to step aside, I have no problem,” answered Minister Daniel Benítez, in an interview with the 1080 AM.
The tsunami in the Ministry of Justice began in the last week of October when it was allowed admission of the coffin of terrorist Osvaldo Villalba to the Buen Pastor prisonso that the criminal Carmen Villalba, his sister, would have the opportunity to fire him.
The same day assumed as new minister of Justice, replacing Edgar Olmedo, Édgar Taboada, who was sworn in with great fanfare in the morning at the Palacio de López, but ended up dismissed in the afternoondue to the coffin scandal.

They also dismissed Ana Dina Coronel, as general coordinator of Women’s Penitentiaries.
This week they appointed Daniel Benitez instead of Taboada, but the chain of errors never ended, rather they aggravated the situation of prison mismanagement, since Ana Dina Coronel, already dismissed, revealed that five months ago he received information by an inmate, on the possible whereabouts of Óscar Denis and Félix Urbieta.
East Data was sent to the then minister Édgar Olmedo, to the new Daniel Benítez and to the director of penitentiary establishments, Artemio Vera. The first two denied having received the data, but when the messages were exposed, Olmedo had no choice but to admit the truth, although Benítez did not, who continued to deny everything.
