The senate approved yesterday a resolution that recognizes the businessman Jose Luis Corripio Estrada (Don Pepin)for his contributions in favor of the development of culture, freedom of expression and respect for human rights, initiative of the President of the Senate, Eduardo Star (Santiago).
It also voted in second reading the Bill that Orders to Publish in the Official Gazette the Acts of the Executive and Legislative Powers.
The senators piece Felix the Baptist (Saint John) Y Franklin Rodriguez (San Cristobal)seeks that, although the laws and resolutions are issued by the Legislative Power, there is evidence of who promoted it for its materialization and because legislative work is one of the fundamental functions of the members of Congress.
It specifies that the promulgation and publication of the norms and acts of the powers of the State constitute a constitutional mandate so that they have legal effects and, therefore, are respected and recognized.

They approved on second reading the Bill on the Refund of the Tax on the Transfer of Industrialized Goods and Services to the Foreign Tourist.
The regulation, presented by the vice president of the Senate, Santiago Jose Zorrilla (El Seibo)provides for the refund of the Tax on the Transfer of Industrialized Goods and Services (Itbis) to foreign tourists and non-residents, and establishes sanctions for individuals who falsify information for the refund.
He sanctioned the project that appoints Doctor Luis Eduardo Morel Pouerie the Palace of Justice of El Seibo.
It also approved the text that President Pedro Antonio Pimentel Appoints the Section of Highway 30 de Mayo, which connects the municipality of Castañuelas, Montecristi; Senator Ramón Pimentel’s initiative.
