Senate elects Luis Rojas Gallardo and Rodrigo Pineda Garfias as secretaries of the Constitutional Council: they will emulate the work of John Smok

The new constituent process continues to take shape after the Senate resolved one of the previous steps for the installation of the Constitutional Council, which will be elected next Sunday, May 7: the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary of the organization, who will be in charge of guiding it administratively. .

The determination is given after the National Congress chose the Expert Commission and the Technical Admissibility Committee, where the various political parties managed to combine positions, present and approve the list in both chambers, slogan Third.

Specifically and unanimously, the Chamber of the Upper House elected Luis Rojas Gallardo as Secretary General, who is a lawyer for the PUCV and current Deputy Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies, beginning his work in the Lower House in 1993.

Likewise, they chose Rodrigo Pineda Garfias as Deputy Secretary of the Constitutional Council, who is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) and has served as secretary of Senate commissions since 2007.

Both Rojas Gallardo and Pineda Garfias have been carrying out various administrative tasks at the legislative headquarters for more than ten years, which is why they gathered the support of all the different political forces in the Senate. Both will carry out a job similar to that of John Smok, who served as secretary of the Constitutional Convention.
