Senate approves observations by President Gabriel Boric on the bill that classifies commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents

The Senate Chamber unanimously approved the observations presented by the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, to the bill that criminalizes the commercial sexual exploitation and pornographic material of children and adolescents.

The measure was endorsed with 34 votes in favor, no abstentions and none against. This, after a few weeks ago the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies backed the presidential veto, also unanimously, with 13 votes in favor.

Specifically, the text modifies the Penal Code to classify crimes that are related to the sexual exploitation and pornography of minors. President Gabriel Boric proposed a series of formal corrections, which contain only adequacy norms that address aspects of correlation in the legislative text, since the crime of rape was left out.

Likewise, it updates the necessary references related to various legal bodies. This, since the norms of sexual crimes against minors have been modified in the last years. In addition, the new crime on transmission -without support or recording- of sexual material of minors is incorporated into the statute of sexual crimes against children and adolescents.
