The Senate Chamber approved the 2023 Budget on Thursday afternoon. The Corporation dispatched the project to the Chamber of Deputies, where the third constitutional procedure will be carried out.

During the discussion in the Senate – which began on Tuesday and concluded on Thursday – the legislators approved a series of indications from the Government, tending to replace aspects that the Lower House rejected.

The Upper House also approved the funds for the National Institute of Human Rights (INDH) and the General Secretariat of Government (Segegob). Of course, the amounts directed for both suffered decreases compared to the original project.

The 2023 Budget project contemplates 32 items. The total amount amounts to US$ 87 billion.

The Chamber of Deputies will vote on the bill next week. In the event that there is no consensus in both chambers on some items, the differences will be settled in a Mixed commission.
