The Senate approved this Wednesday (10) a project (PLS 431/2018) that provides for the unused balance of telephone, internet and text message service franchises to be accumulated for subsequent months. Analyzed in a final way by the Senate’s Science, Technology, Innovation, Communication and Information Technology Committee (CCT), if there is no resource for analysis in the plenary of the House, the text will be analyzed by the Chamber of Deputies.
According to the proposal, the novelty would enter the General Telecommunications Law (Law 9,472, of 1997). The report by Senator Acir Gurgacz (PDT-RO) was read at the CCT meeting by Senator Styvenson Valentim (Podes-RN). “When the user exceeds the contracted monthly limit, he is obliged to purchase additional packages. On the other hand, when the consumer does not fully use the contracted quantities, he loses the right to use the balances in the future, which is not fair”, says Gurgacz’s report.
