Despite the deficit scandal and the aforementioned corruption that would be operating in the National Health Insurance (Senasa), the General Directorate of Government Ethics and Integrity (DIGEIG) granted that institution a qualification of 89.62% in its transparency evaluation of the month of June of this year.
From January to June 2025, Senasa has obtained an average rating of 92.89% in transparency, distributed as follows: 95.79% in January, 89.32% in February, 96.84% in March, 92.76% in April, 93.03% in May and 89.62 in June.
A week ago, the DIGEIG issued a statement in which it celebrated that most of the entities evaluated by the Executive Power obtained an outstanding performance.

The entity that evaluates transparency announced the establishment of a record of 215 institutions with a score greater than 85 points, of a 226 universe evaluated, for a total of 95.13%.
Digeid highlighted this data as “an advance never seen in the country in terms of transparency.”
Corruption scandal
According to the journalist Julissa Céspedes, more than 4,000 medical procedures were authorized in a television program, although they were never carried out, using real affiliate identities.
In the alleged corruption network, a parallel call center would have been used, operated by former employees from outside the institution, which managed the authorizations.

Senasa has been a topic of conversation in public opinion, by presenting a deficit of billions of pesos, to which has added a corruption scandal, which has caused the investigation and delivery of a report to the Public Ministry by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.
The president published in his X (former Twitter) account, which in the five years of his government, has fought against impunity and corruption, and that, in coherence with this, he sent a report to the Attorney General’s Office that reveals irregularities in Senasa.
