Santo Domingo. – The National Health Insurance (Senasa) clarified this Friday that the audits and supervisions carried out by the Chamber of Accounts, the Comptroller General of the Republic and private signatures are part of the established mechanisms to guarantee the transparency and good use of public funds in state institutions.

The entity explained that, as a health risk administrator (ARS), it is subject to periodic inspections in different administrative and operational areas, which are executed randomly and at different times. These reviews have the objective of strengthening institutional management and ensuring that the services offered to their affiliates comply with high quality standards.
Through a statement, Senasa stressed that, in accordance with Law 87-01 that regulates the Dominican Social Security System, it maintains its commitment to guarantee equitable, efficient and timely access to health services, in addition to protecting the rights of its insured. In that line, he pointed out that it continues to strengthen its control mechanisms to preserve the benefits contemplated by the Basic Health Plan (PDS).
In addition, the institution informed that, after carrying out internal inquiries and collecting evidence, he filed a formal complaint with the corresponding agencies, due to harmful actions committed by third parties against citizens. In this sense, Senasa reiterated her respect for due process and expressed confidence that the authorities will act in accordance with the provisions of the law.
Senasa reaffirmed her commitment to the legality, transparency and quality of attention to her affiliates, while reiterating her opening to dialogue with both citizens and the media, with the aim of maintaining everyone’s confidence and tranquility.
