Senapred will test the Emergency Alert System (SAE) this Thursday in Peñalolén

The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) scheduled for this coming Thursday, April 6, the start of tests of the Emergency Alert System (SAE) for cell phones in the commune of Peñalolén, Metropolitan region.

The agency explained that the message is issued for the population to evacuate areas that could be affected by the activation of a risk to their physical integrity, such as a tsunami, forest fires, floods and volcanic eruptions.

Through social networks, Senapred reported that the test will be carried out at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. He also explained that the tests are carried out in order to verify the correct functioning, operability and scope of the system.

It should be noted that the agency indicated that it is likely that the alert will also be received by people located in the areas surrounding the commune, as well as those who transit in it.
