Senapred orders evacuation at different points in Coronel due to the advance of forest fires

Complications continue as a result of the forest fires that affect the south-central zone of the country. And it is that although in the morning the presidential delegate of the Biobío region, Daniela Dresdner, reported that the fire “moved away” from the Coronel commune, now it was ordered to evacuate various points in the sector.

Specifically, the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) ordered the evacuation of different points in the aforementioned commune of the Biobío region. This, as a result of the advance of forest fires.

In this way, an SAE alert was activated in the San José de Palco area and a call was made to the population to withdraw from the sector due to the progress of the flames. To facilitate the evacuation, vehicular traffic on Route 156, known as the “wood route,” was closed.

At about 2:00 p.m. this Sunday, Senapred activated an SAE messaging alert for the Quetra and Los Cruceros sectors, towns located in the Coronel commune. It should be noted that in these instances, Senapred calls on the population to “act calmly and abide by the indications of the authority and the response teams.”
