Senapred declared a red alert for the Arauco commune due to forest fire

The Regional Directorate of the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) declared a red alert last night for the commune of Arauco, Biobío Region, due to a forest fire affecting the area.

According to Senapred, the incident is in combat and has consumed an approximate area of ​​1.8 hectares. In turn, it is developed in proximity to inhabited sectors.

With the declaration of red alert, “all the necessary and available resources will be mobilized, in additional support to what has already been deployed by Conaf, Firefighters and Sinapred, in this way, action will be taken to control the situation, given the extent and severity of the event “, the Service said in a statement.

From Senapred they indicated that the alert will be in force “until the conditions of the fire warrant it.”
