Through an operation carried out to the southwest of San José Island, in the Las Perlas Archipelago, the National Aeronaval Service seized 2,570 packages of drugs, apprehended 4 males and confiscated a speedboat.
The occupants of the boat, upon seeing the uniformed men, tried to flee by carrying out evasive maneuvers; however, they were seized and in coordination with the Drug Prosecutor’s Office of Colón the vessel, the illicit and the apprehended were transferred to the CF DEM Noel A. Rodríguez Naval Base in Rodman to comply with the pertinent proceedings.
The aviation and naval authorities reported that the period from 2022 to date, they have achieved the total seizure of 81,790 packages of illegal substances in 116 operations.
The National Air-Naval Service, in coordination with the Panama Air-Naval Operations Center (CROAN), through patrol tasks and control of illicit maritime traffic, through the use of Air-Naval means, manage to interrupt the movement of a speedboat, manned by 04 male, which upon noticing the presence of Aeronaval begins its flight, generating a pursuit maneuver. Once the boat was insured, a certain number of packages containing presumed illegal substances were observed inside.
After coordination with the Panamanian Drug Prosecutor’s Office, the vessel, crew members and alleged illicit were transferred to the CF DEM Noel A. Rodriguez Naval Base in Rodman, for the pertinent proceedings, where a total of 72 packages containing 2,570 packages of suspected illicit substance.
During the period from 2022 to date, the National Aeronaval Service, through the execution of 116 operations has achieved the total confiscation of 81,790 packages of illicit substances.
