Some 262 packages of alleged illicit substance were seized by the National Aeronaval Service, in less than 72 hours.
According to the authorities, the alleged drug was detected in three white packages aboard a speedboat in which 4 men were traveling to the South of San Carlos, West Panama province.
Major Maycol Palacios, head of the fourth Naval Air Zone, explained that this action is achieved in conjunction with the National Police, within the framework of OPERATION ALFIL and in coordination with the Panamanian Naval Air Operations Center (CROAN), through patrolling and control of illicit maritime traffic, through the use of Aeronaval means.
Palacios explained that in coordination with the Western Panama Drug Prosecutor’s Office, the vessel, crew and alleged crime were transferred to the CF DEM Noel A. Rodríguez Naval Base for the pertinent proceedings.
