Senamhi declares orange alert in 9 departments

The intense rains in the country will continue, at least until Thursday the 10th, reported yesterday the National Hydrology Meteorology Service (Senamhi), which yesterday issued an orange alert for the nine departments of the country.

Level rises with possible overflows in the Lauca, Guadalquivir, San Juan del Oro, Tupiza, Cotagaita and Mauri basins, ”says the statement that speaks of possible overflows in the departments of Oruro, north of La Paz, Potosí between 7 and 10 February.

There is also a warning of overflow in the most important basins of Tarija, Chuquisaca, Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, Beni and Pando, respectively.

Last week, a person was crushed to death by a wall in Bajo Llojeta, La Paz.

Meanwhile, the search for two people in the community of Tumpeca, in Sucre, continues after they were surprised by a dungeon on Friday the 4th. The 60-year-old woman and a 12-year-old minor are still missing.

The search is being carried out by a team of 10 rescue specialists. The director of the Departmental Road Service, Giorgino García, reported that heavy machinery was also deployed for the rescue.
