The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (Senamhi) issued the orange alert for this Saturday for rains and electrical storms in Potosí, Chuquisaca and Tarija.
“The Senamhi issued the meteorological alert No. 61 of Orange priority due to rains and thunderstorms,” reported meteorologist José Maldonado. That means there is a very high threat level. “Unusual phenomena and with a certain degree of Danger for the usual activities of human beings.”
He affirmed that the presence of the “high rainfall” will cause these moderately intense rains and electrical storms temporarily strong from early morning until late at night this Saturday.
He also indicated that it will affect three departments: In Potosí, the Altiplano region and the Cordillera will be affected. “The provinces Omiste, Nor Chichas, Quijarro, Linares, Tomás Frías, Saavedra and Sur Lípez”.

In the department of Chuquisaca, the western region of Nor Cinti and Sur Cinti will be affected, as will the Altiplano region of the department of Tarija. “The western provinces of Méndez and Avilés”.
Because of this, Maldonado recommended taking all possible precautions against electrical storms, for example, “avoid being in high places, under trees, electric poles and disconnecting electronic equipment for a moment.”
Above all, he stressed that you must remain calm because a thunderstorm lasts 30 minutes.
