Senafront unit arrested in operation against commercial sexual exploitation

The National Border Service reported that Operation Trilliza was carried out in conjunction with the National Police and the Public Ministry where 11 people were detained, including an active unit of this security institution.

According to the statement, officials and former public officials were involved in this criminal cell, where raids were carried out in Puerto Armuelles, Rio Sereno and in the Province of Darién, places where they engaged in the commercial sexual exploitation of minors.

In the raids it was possible to recover technological equipment such as cell phones, laptop, 2 USB memories.

The institution also reported that this detained unit had been monitored since 2022 by counterintelligence units after conduct contrary to the ethical and moral principles of the border crossing was detected.
