After the National Border Service (Senafront) received information through social networks about an alleged children’s organ trafficking network that operated in the province of Darién, the security entity denied this information and asked the population to use responsible for the social networks in addition to denouncing before the corresponding legal channels before the knowledge of any illicit.
In a statement, Senafront highlighted that no formal complaint has been received in Panama about the trafficking of children’s organs, much less through Darién, and they also explained that for this type of crime, an infrastructure and logistics are necessary to guarantee and allow organ trafficking.
In addition to this information, the entity said that they permanently maintain the presence of their personnel in their advanced surveillance posts and mobile patrols in the Darien jungle.
They also reiterated that due to the presence of more migrants across the border with Colombia, the presence in this area has been reinforced through the Wana Jumarada campaign.
