The Electrical Union (UNE) reported This Sunday, the National Electrical System (SEN) was once again affected during the 24 hours of the previous day, with a maximum interruption of 2091 MW recorded at 6:10 p.m., due to the generation deficit.
According to the entity, the day was also marked by the contribution of the 33 new photovoltaic solar parks, which contributed 2,941 MWh to the system, with a maximum power of 546 MW at midday.
Insufficient availability early
At 06:00 this Sunday, the availability of the SEN was 1,298 MW, faced with a demand of 2,487 MW, which left 1,206 MW affected by a capacity deficit. For the morning schedule, the UNE estimates an approximate impact of 1,250 MW.
Breakdowns, maintenance and limitations
The system continues to operate under multiple incidents. Among the reported breakdowns are Unit 3 of the CTE Cienfuegos, Unit 6 of the CTE Diez de Octubre, Unit 2 of the CTE Felton and Unit 5 of the CTE Renté. Added to this are the scheduled maintenance in Units 2 and 3 of the Santa Cruz CTE, as well as in Unit 4 of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes CTE, in Cienfuegos. The limitations on thermal generation amount to a total of 551 MW out of service.
The UNE also pointed out a wide unavailability associated with the lack of fuel and lubricants, which keeps 100 distributed generation plants (902 MW) out of operation, in addition to five engines at the Fuel plant in Moa (68 MW). Another 83 MW remain unavailable due to lack of lubricant, for a total of 1,053 MW affected by this concept.
Peak Hour Forecast
For the night, the outlook continues to be complex. The UNE foresees the entry of 60 MW from unit 5 of the CTE Renté, which would raise the availability to 1,358 MW. However, the maximum demand is estimated at 3,300 MW, leaving a deficit of 1,942 MW.
If these conditions continue, an impact of 2012 MW is estimated during peak hours.
