Trump told journalists in the Oval Hall that the new tariff rate will apply to “all chips and semiconductors that enter the United States”, but will not apply to companies that have committed to manufacture in the country.
“So 100% tariff for all chips and semiconductors that enter in the United States. But you have committed to manufacture (in the United States), or if you are in the process of manufacturing (in the United States), like many, there is no tariff,” Trump said.
