Seitz celebrates Executive's veto over Petropar law

Pablo Seitz, director of Public Procurement, stated that it was reassuring that Mario Abdo Benítez, President of the Republic, had partially vetoed the new Petropar law. With this, the state oil company will not be outside the controls of the DNCP.

“The project aimed only to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles. This would simplify public purchases. But what ended up being approved was the elimination of Petropar from the Public Procurement process”, he stated during an interview for 680 AM.

He pointed out that congressmen have spoken at opposite poles. Therefore, it is difficult to predict whether they will approve or reject the veto.

“I don’t have any official political reading. No statement from the benches. We will see when it will be presented again at the entrance table, ”she concluded.

If the law is approved, Petropar would have been left out of the DNCP processes. Something similar to what happened with the municipalities and governorates with the emergency purchases made during the pandemic. Fact that generated multiple complaints and several accused for the irregular management of resources.
