Seguros Universal consolidates leadership with 21% of the market

In an environment economic Characterized by slow progress and increasingly aggressive competition, the Dominican insurance sector demonstrated resilience at the end of last year and in this scenario Seguros Universal managed to maintain a market share close to 21%, after reporting a 13% growth in its premiums, which reached RD$31,215 million at the end of 2025.

These figures, endorsed by the Dominican Chamber of Insurers and Reinsurers (CADOAR), were presented at the traditional annual awards ceremony for the institution’s agents, where it was highlighted that their performance is the result of a strategy based on operational efficiency, technological innovation and investment in human talent, along with the strengthening of its strategic alliances and the trust of its reinsurers.

The senior executive vice president of Grupo Universal Insurance Subsidiaries, Wilfredo Baquero Ginebra, when speaking at the activity, stressed that these results are not fortuitous, but rather the reflection of a business vision focused on the client and oriented towards long-term sustainable solutions.

“Beyond the numbers, what is truly important is what they represent: sustainable growth, built on long-term relationships, well-thought-out decisions and a clear vision of putting the customer at the center of every decision,” said Baquero Ginebra before the assembled sales force.

The executive highlighted that, despite the challenges of the environment, the insurer has achieved responsible and balanced progress. Likewise, he celebrated the crucial role of the external commercial force to deliver a value proposition based on proximity and permanent support.

The activity, held at the Comunidad Universal facilities in the Universal Tower, served as a platform to recognize the outstanding performance of agents from the North, East and Metro South zones in various categories.

Angelika Charlotte Wolff achieved the highest award by being distinguished as the “largest producer” at the national level, in addition, she obtained first place in the “Health and Life” category, and the award for the largest Increase in Premiums in General Risks.

While the company Peralta Ceballos y Asociados obtained second place in the Health and Life category; while the company Paredes Liberto y Asociados was awarded in second position in the General Risks category.
