Segob, Security, Sedena and Navy carry out the passing of the post to their commands

In the Revolution Room of the Ministry of the Interior, licensed senator Omar García Harfuch received his dependency and responsibilities from the former head of the Ministry of Public Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez.

After that, the now former head of the Interior Luisa María Alcalde led the reception of the agency to Rosa Icela Rodríguez herself.

Also in the Interior, located in the center of the city, Ernestina Godoy, also a licensed senator, took office as Legal Advisor to the Presidency in the administration of Claudia Sheinabum, a position held by Estela Ríos.

At the reception ceremony of the Legal Department, the new head, Ernestina Godoy, highlighted that this is “the first transition from a left-wing government to another left-wing government. The first time that it does not imply a breakup, nor an economic crisis, and the first time that a woman will be president of the country.”

With a broken voice he said goodbye to the outgoing president López Obrador, of whom he said: “he showed us all an iron tenacity, a fresh, singular, imaginative intelligence with which he encouraged us… My admiration, my gratitude to the politician and colleague. This is the time to say thank you president.”

Harfuch, meanwhile, the new head of Security, offered to work together and in a coordinated manner with all entities in the country.

He promised to work with the greatest effort to continue “the extraordinary work of my colleague” Rosa Icela Rodríguez, which is why he insisted that he will follow the same route, in four ways: “fight the causes”, consolidate the National Guard, in addition to consolidating investigation capabilities to better combat crime and organized crime, and all of this accompanied by coordination.

He guaranteed that naval intelligence, military intelligence and financial intelligence will be used to achieve these objectives of guaranteeing security.

In passing, he congratulated the now former Secretary of the Interior, Luisa María Alcalde, who he said will surely strengthen the “Fourth Transformation” in her new position as leader of Morena.

“I can assure you that the territory is at peace,” said the now Secretary of the Interior when handing over the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela, to the new head, Omar García Harfuch.

He said that the guarantees are in place so that the government transition this October 1 is carried out “without setbacks” and in accordance with the law.

He affirmed that the new government does not start from scratch, the foundations of the second floor of the fourth transformation have already been defined and asked to respect them, including honesty, zero corruption and austerity.

Delivery-reception in the Armed Forces

In the Maneuver Plaza of the Heroic Military College, the delivery-reception of the Secretariat of National Defense took place, which with López Obrador was headed by Luis Cresencio Sandoval, who handed over command to the General Staff Division Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, who served as head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the agency.

At the property, honors were paid to the outgoing secretary, who issued a few farewell words, after which the administrative record of the delivery-reception was signed.

At 11:55 p.m. this Monday, at the Navy Secretariat, south of Mexico City, Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán held the reception ceremony for his successor as head of the department, Admiral Raymundo Pedro. Morales Ángeles, who served as general director of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

At the event, accompanied by the War Band and music from the War Orchestra, the symbolic act of handing over the saber was carried out and the flag of the new Secretary of the Navy was raised.

Other members of the cabinet will assume their duties and will protest at the head of the offices in the following hours, among them Rogelio Ramírez de la O as Secretary of Finance and Public Credit; Marcelo Ebrard as Secretary of Economy, Juan Ramón de la Fuente as Secretary of Foreign Relations.

Julio Berdegué will assume the position of Secretary of Agriculture, Alicia Bárcena as Secretary of the Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), Rosaura Ruiz as the Secretary of Science, Technology and Humanities, Mario Delgado as head of the Secretary of Public Education (SEP), Ariadna Montiel, Secretary of Welfare and Luz Elena González Escobar, as head of the Energy Secretariat.

David Kershenobich will be sworn in as Secretary of Health, Raquel Buenrostro as Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration; Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina as Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation; Edna Elena Vega Rangel: Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development.

Relief in the SEP

At the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Leticia Ramírez and Mario Delgado led the handover for the beginning of the new six-year term.

”All my gratitude to the SEP team that has accompanied our president these years and, of course, to Secretary Leticia Ramírez for her work, willingness and kindness to make this transition process easy and enjoyable,” said Mario. Delgado, former leader of Morena.

Mario Delgado also handed over the Morenista leadership to Luisa María Alcalde Luján, who leaves the Ministry of the Interior with the change of six-year terms.

Marcelo Ebrard, who competed with Claudia Sheinbaum for Morena’s presidential candidacy, met with Raquel Buenrostro to carry out the change of command in the Ministry of Economy.

AMLO stops being president

At 11:59 p.m. this Monday, September 30, Andrés Manuel López Obrador concluded his six-year term, so, as of the first minute of this October 1, Mexico has its first president: Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
