The Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) yesterday published the declaration of cause of public utility
of 1.3 million square meters of private property located in four municipalities of Quintana Roo, which will be used for the construction of public infrastructure works related to the Mayan Train Project, section 5 (north and south).
In the evening edition of Official Journal of the Federation (DOF), Sedatu stressed that the project has seven sections and, the fifth, related to this declaration, will bring benefits to those who live and work in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Solidaridad and Tulum.
In previous months, the first agreements related to the declaration of cause of public utility of private property of the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Solidaridad and Puerto Morelos were published.
Now it is specified that in the Benito Juárez municipality (Cancún) there are two polygons; from Puerto Morelos, four; from Solidarity, 36, and from Tulum, four.
“Resulting in a total area of approximately one million 383 thousand 122.91 square meters, comprised of 50 privately owned properties.
That the properties referred to in the preceding paragraphs are appropriate and suitable for the construction and integral operation of the Mayan Train Project, for which it is necessary to expropriate the private property located on the surface of Section 5 North and Section 5 South.
The interested parties will have 15 business days to express what is convenient for them.
In the same edition of DOFthe Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources gave the notice that the study carried out by the National Commission of Protected Areas to justify the issuance of the decree by which it is intended to declare a protected natural area with the character of a flora protection area is available to the public and fauna to the region known as Jaguar, located in Tulum.
